Squarelandia
A downloadable prototype for Windows
About This Game (Prototype...thing):
You are the governor of Squarelandia, a state/nation/thing. Make your nation prosperous. That is all.
Serious Notes:
This is a prototype made for the Extra Credits Jam #4. It is extremely rough, but it has at least one element of actual gameplay...which is more than I expected to actually get in with how much I had to learn just to make this prototype. I will be looking at updating it later on to fix bugs/missing features noted below and possibly bring it into being a full (free?) game.
Instructions:
- Click and drag to connect cities together. Cities will not allow you to make duplicate connections to each other.
- Cities will automagically negotiate food with each other until they have at least 0 food each.
- Cities will (attempt to) spawn every 5 seconds. Trading also occurs every 5 seconds.
The following bugs or missing features were intended to be fixed by the end of the jam, but due to time/energy constraints must be left in:
- Cities are all named Stuttgart.
- Cities all have the same default description.
- Cities do not attempt to garner more than 0 food.
- Cities sometimes all like to spawn with more than enough food.
- Cities "have population" but do not grow or decline.
- No scoring / no win conditions.
- Some debug statements have been left in. Oops.
- Game window cannot be rescaled.
- There is no music. Or sound effects. Or audio period.

If you aren't on a 64 bit Windows PC, then cry. (I don't have a Linux system yet and I won't have a Mac system for the longest time.)
